Hey there! My name is Cakeanie. I mean Stephanie. I am originally from Caketario, I mean Ontario, but live in Cakemonton, I mean Edmonton. Sorry, I must have cake on the brain. I am a program coordinator for a non-profit and cake and decorate cakes in my spare time. I decorated my first cake while working at a grocery store bakery in high school and university. At that time, it was just a job. I didn’t really take interest in baking and decorating until COVID happened and I felt trapped in a condo. I bought some supplies and took an online decorating class. I wouldn’t have described myself as the creative type, until I discovered all that is cake. The grocery store was a good starting point, but most of those cakes were decorated based on designs given to us by the head office. The cakes I make now are 6” or 8” and iced and decorated with buttercream icing. I am inspired by the the interests of the person the cake is for. Whether it is a birthday, baby shower, or other special event, I like to create a different cake each time.
